LEGACY SPORTS PARK IN MESA TO BE NEW HOME FOR PHOENIX BRAZAS FUTSAL CLUB

Pro futsal team will train and play home games at Legacy Sports Park, along with hosting tournaments, camps and other training/programming

(Mesa, AZ – April 15, 2021)

The Phoenix Brazas Futsal Club announced today a partnership with Legacy Sports Park to be the new home for Phoenix Brazas Futsal, a professional futsal team established in 2015 in Mesa that competes in the American Futsal League.

Legacy Sports Park will manage and operate Phoenix Brazas Futsal Club powered by Legacy Sports USA, which will be led by owner Kaue Martins.  Brazas FC will train and play all of their home games at Legacy Sports Park, a 320-acre, multi-use family sports and entertainment complex that is set to debut in January of 2022 in Mesa.

Along with hosting home AFL games, Brazas FC will offer a number of additional training programs and competitions based on its focus to bring the Brazilian methodology to the sport.  Some of that programming will include:

●      Youth Futsal Training (Club and Individual)

●      Youth Futsal League

●      Men's Professional B Team

●      Men’s Amateur League

●      Tournaments (including International tournaments)

●      Camps (Elite, Technical and Recreational)

●      USA National Team Events

●      Exchange Programs for Brazilian club

●      Individual Training Sessions

“We are thrilled to call Legacy Sports Park our home starting in 2022 and excited to play and train in the new state-of-the-art facilities,” Martins said.  “We have an outstanding group of players, coaches and staff who help teach our Brazilian methodology and our vision as we look forward to continuing the rapid growth of futsal in the Southwest and the rest of the country.”

The club is planning on rebranding the name from Phoenix Brazas Futsal Club to Brusa Futsal Club in the coming months leading to the opening of Legacy Sports Park.  The rebranding symbolizes a new era for the club, bringing together "BR"asil and the "USA" in one forward movement.

Martins started Phoenix Brazas FC in 2015 and serves as player/owner.  Currently Brazas FC is a member of the American Futsal League (AFL), the only league in the United States sanctioned under AMF (Association Mundial de Futsal).  Martins is involved in all levels of futsal development from the playing side to the management side and in the past five years has grown the sport of futsal more than any other counterpart in the Southwest region.

Growing up in Brazil and moving to the U.S. in high school, Martins received his first professional contract playing field in the United Soccer League in Florida directly upon graduation, and he played for various other professional teams in Arizona and abroad.  Eventually Martins transitioned to playing professional futsal, where he has had the honor of playing for both the Brazilian Futsal National Team and now for the U.S. National Futsal Team, and he is in the player pool for the next cycle of qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup in 2021.

“Kaue has a ton of futsal experience, both on the playing side and in management, and we are excited to have Brazas FC a part of Legacy Sports Park,” said Brett Miller, President of Legacy Sports USA.  “From hosting Brazas FC home games, to the many camps and tournaments on the schedule, we know this partnership with Brazas FC will help grow the game of futsal even more.”

Legacy Sports Park is a privately owned, 320-acre multi-use family sports and entertainment complex in Mesa, Ariz., currently under construction with plans to officially open to the public in January of 2022. Legacy Sports Park will create more than 1,500 jobs and generate hundreds of millions of dollars in direct economic impact back to the surrounding community, with an expected three million visitors annually.  Legacy Sports Park is the vision of Randy J. Miller, Chairman of Legacy Sports USA, Chad J Miller, CEO of Legacy Sports USA, and Olympic Gold Medalist Dan O’Brien, Director of Performance Training at Legacy Sports Park. In addition, Legacy Sports Park will also include a multi-purpose arena and outdoor amphitheater designed for live events, family shows, exhibitions, and conventions.
